"I want to thank anyone who spends part of their day creating, I don't care if it's a book, a film, a painting, a dance, a piece of theatre, a piece of
music - anybody who spends part of their day sharing their experience with us - I think this world would be unliveable without art and I thank you"

Mexican Skull

It is very difficult to draw a good mexican skull - I tried, and it turned out way too disturbing. Holly, who shares her drawings through her blog, has done a great job with this mexican skull drawing...and here is her blog I LIKE IT HERE

little hamsas

Little handstitched hamsa necklaces.

punk hamsa

I loved making this hamsa. There's a little mala skull bead sewn into the centre and paper typed words along the bottom.

a lucky travel pouch

I made this for someone I've never met - all I know is her name and that she is about to travel overseas. It's a pendant, on cotton cord, with a little slit in the top for storing lucky charms for travellers' luck.

500 BROOCHES!?!!

I found this book '500 brooches', by Lark Books. It is fascinating, so I've chosen a selection of brooches that I think are both beautiful and wearable. There were some pretty weird ones, like the brooch made out of crack vial caps, or the one made from dental plastic...and tears!

Photos of 100 of the brooches from the book can be found at http://www.velvetdavinci.com/
